Landscapers & gardeners honored

Daughdrill McSweyn Cupit


Wesson Garden Club has recognized three local for the landscaping and gardening.  Dr. Roy and Gerry Daughdrill (1012 West Street) have received Wesson Garden Club’s special summer award for their gardens that feature a variety of day lilies.  Allen and Celial McSweyn received WGC’s May Special Design award for landscaping at 1193 Highway 51, and the Club honored the yard work of Paxton and Hannah Cupit  at 1015 Lowery Road with its Rural Yard of the Month award. 


The WGC awards program recognizes maintenance principles and elements of landscape design practiced by town organizations and residents towards encouraging ongoing beautification and cleanliness of the Wesson area and cultivating a citizenry that values and protects natural resources and assumes responsibility for enhancing the environment. 


The Garden Club's Yard of the Month awards honor properties in organizational, town residential and rural residential (limited to Wesson School District) categories during the spring, summer and fall.
