“Pray to God even after He gives you what you were praying for.” – Unknown
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18~
Prayer is such a blessing. It's not intended to be a crutch, only to be used when you need something, but a direct line of communication with the Lord that is open 24/7. It's truly a blessing and a privilege. When you wake up, you need to pray. Throughout your day, when things go well, be thankful in prayer. Just a little "Thank you Jesus" is sufficient. When things go bad, pray. When you lay down at night, pray. Prayer is critical in the life of a believer because it provides peace and comfort that only talking to your best friend (the person who loves you more than anything in the world and thought you were worth dying for) can give. God will answer you in His time and when He does, don't for one second think you can stop praying. Thank Him for the answered prayer and then keep praying. Pray for others. Pray for God to put you where you need to be. Pray for God's will to be done in your life. Pray to have eyes that see people the way God sees them; not on the clothes they wear, the money in their bank account or the fancy house or car they have-but their hearts. Strive to see their need and to pray for them. Here's a biggie...pray for those who hurt you. Whew! I bet that stopped you in your tracks! That is one of the hardest things to do but one of the most rewarding things at the same time. If you haven’t tried it, please do so. I don’t mean just one time, but continuously. Do you know what that does? It not only has you following God’s commandments but all the while, it steadily give you your peace back more than you realize. Why do you think God tells us to do it? You are forgiving them a little at time, or who knows, a whole lot at a time. God has a reason for EVERYTHING y’all.
There is ALWAYS something to pray about and there is always someone to pray for. Let me tell you this one thing. There is always something to be thankful for. Pray to God and tell Him thank you, even if it’s for waking you up today. You’re reading this right now so He gave you another day. Have you thanked Him for that?
Never. Stop. Praying. No matter what life throws your way, God can see you through it. Prayer will keep you afloat when the waters seem to swallow you up. Prayer is a gift from God. Use it. It’s a blessings and a lifeline.
