Wesson Attendance Center girls and boys cross country teams have made history by qualifying for the state tournament at their very first meet, with thirteen personal records shattered.
Each returning runner ran faster at their first meet this year than they ran at their first meet last year.
“These athletes have given up hours over their summer break, working through the grueling heat, to prepare themselves to be better than they were yesterday,” said Mandi Ponder, mother of cross country eighth-grader, Brody.
“The improvements shown in this meet’s results are a direct reflection of their commitment to the team! We couldn’t be more proud of them!” said Ponder.
